New York News

12. February 2012

New York Fashion Week is on since Thursday. And for those of you who are lucky to attend, I want to share two new New York City spots that I discovered on my last visit. If you are in dire need of a hair fresh up, e.g. before heading for dinner or the clubs, you have to visit the Drybar on 4 West 16th Street. It’s a “blow dry bar”, so you cannot get your hair cut or refresh your colour, the place only blow drys your hair – or straigthens it if you want. Drybar, which has couple of locations all around the U.S., was founded by this woman, Alli Webb:

And look how beautiful the bars look, I felt myself like starring in Sex and the City…

We definitely need this in Germany too!

And to show off your blow dried hair, I recommend Crown, a new restaurant at the Upper East Side (24 East 81st Street, between Madison and 5th). Woody Allen is a regular there and the place is just so sophisticated. The waiters look like they could all be models in Men’s VOGUE and the guests are all elegant, rich Upper East Side residents. And the food is great too, of course. The place was opened by John DeLucie who is also responsible for The Waverly Inn and The Lion. A must-see for your next NYC visit!
