OMG! Just when I thought the whole Lady Gaga craze was finally cooling down architect and designer Rem Koolhaas proves me wrong. With this „monster” of a shoe. Koolhaas, who has been friends with Miuccia Prada for decades, in 2003 launched his footwear brand United Nude. A couple of months ago he was commissioned to create high heels for Gaga‘s presentation of her new „Fame” fragrance.

So how did Koolhaas approach this project? „She wanted the shoes to be as high as possible – so that’s what we did!” Koolhaas was also inspired by the pop icon’s campaign for „Fame” which stars her as a naked giant with people climbing all over her. When I looked at this crazy work of art, 12 inches high!, I couldn’t stop myself from wondering: do celebrities envision their life like this? Fans crawling all over them, being attracted to the limelight like moths?
